What is IASTM Fascia Mobilization Therapy?
We all know what muscles are – so what is fascia? Fascia is the tissue that surrounds your muscles, organs, bones, nerves, blood vessels, veins, literally everything in your body and it is super important. IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) Fascia Mobilization (FM) Therapy represents a huge move forward for fascia care.
Fascia health is significant in the health and wellness arena for movement, pain management, rehabilitation-injury recovery, and sports performance. The health of your fascia can significantly impact the look of your body’s outer surface, according to research being done by a growing number of scientists and doctors.
Some studies have shown that unhealthy fascia not only creates adhesions and restrictions throughout the body but can also create cellulite! Fascia can also inhibit body fat from releasing hormones, which can then limit weight loss success.
How is IASTM Fascia Mobilization Performed?
The goal of IASTM Fascia Mobilization is just what it sounds like! Getting the crucial fascia that surrounds your muscles (and everything else in your body) mobilized or moving. Your fascia is not only connected to the muscle but also your bones. When the fascia gets stuck and doesn’t glide, you are left with dysfunction, pain, and lack of blood circulation. When our therapists get your fascia mobilized, you can notice amazing results!
When hormones are released from fat through Fascia Mobilization, you can notice a reduction of cellulite and even lose weight faster. You will also notice smoother overall skin where Fascia Mobilization has been performed. We use several tools and methods that we can integrate to achieve these goals.
All of our therapists at Pain to Performance are trained to create a detailed treatment plan for every one of our clients. Depending on your individual needs, we may use RockTape, IASTM Blades, Gua Sha, Cupping Therapy, or a fascia tool to facilitate removing adhesions and getting your fascia gliding smoothly.
You will also be an active participant in this therapy, so make sure to wear a 2 piece bathing suit or swim shorts so that you can move comfortably during treatment. Some clients will notice bruising after treatment, which is normal but not the goal because it does cause inflammation. Some people see results quickly. For others, it takes time.
We can’t guarantee what your individual results will be. However, we have used this technique for years, and many of our clients absolutely swear by it!
Why is IASTM Fascia Mobilization right for me?
IASTM – Fascia Mobilization has been shown to have many benefits to not only how your body feels and performs but also how you look!
Our clients in Bellevue have told us that after Fascia Mobilization, they have noticed a reduction in cellulite, skin tightening, less noticeable scars, stretch marks, scars, and less crepe looking skin! But this treatment is much more than a beauty treatment.
Your range of motion can be greatly increased through manipulation of the fascia. Athletes will also notice a marked improvement in flexibility, mobility, and recovery from soreness.
Our therapists are experts at performing Fascia Mobilization. Our professional clinical tables bend to allow for a stretched or compressed the body’s position to ensure that you get the most out of your session.
Here at Pain to Performance, we also use Far Infrared mats with PEMF that greatly increase Fascia Mobilization’s effectiveness. You will notice not only physical benefits but also emotional and mental clarity from this treatment.
Unlike other therapists, we do not use heating pads for Fascia Mobilization as they can cause burns and be counterproductive.
